Truett Wayne Osmun Obituary, Hicksville Death – Cherished 2-Year-Old from Hicksville Remembered for His Joyful Spirit and Love of Trucks

HICKSVILLE, OH — Family, friends, and members of the Hicksville community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Truett Wayne Osmun, a cherished 2-year-old whose bright smile, adventurous spirit, and loving nature touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Truett passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, leaving behind a family and community devastated by his loss.

Born on March 8, 2024, in Bryan, Ohio, Truett was the beloved son of Cierra Douglas and Drake Osmun. Though his life was brief, he filled every day with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Those who knew Truett remember a little boy with boundless curiosity and an infectious enthusiasm for the world around him. He loved playing with toy trucks and tools, spending time outdoors, and exploring anything that captured his attention. Whether he was discovering something new or simply enjoying time with family, Truett approached life with wonder and excitement.

He was especially known as his father Drake’s devoted little shadow, always eager to follow along and take part in whatever his dad was doing. Equally treasured were the quiet moments spent snuggling with his mother, Cierra, whom he adored. Family members fondly recall his sweet kisses, expressive pout when things did not go his way, and the playful personality that brought smiles to those around him.

Truett also shared a special bond with his siblings, Scarlette, Kendyl, and Riggins. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter, play, and love. His joyful presence enriched the lives of his family members and brought happiness to all who had the privilege of watching him grow.

He is survived by his loving parents, Cierra Douglas and Drake Osmun; his siblings, Scarlette, Kendyl, and Riggins; grandparents, including Jason Douglas; great-grandparents Peggy Vaughn of Hicksville, Vernon and Pam Ingram of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Christine Douglas of Quincy, Michigan; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who loved him dearly.

Truett was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Osmun, and great-grandparents Richard and Donna Osmun and Gary Douglas.

Private services are being held through Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home in Hicksville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested live plants or wind chimes as expressions of sympathy. Memorial contributions may also be made to the family in care of Drake Osmun.

Although Truett’s time on earth was far too short, the love he shared and the happiness he brought to others will endure. His bright spirit, endless curiosity, and affectionate nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

As the community continues to rally around the Osmun and Douglas families, friends and loved ones are sharing memories of a little boy who lit up every room he entered. Through those memories, Truett’s legacy of love, joy, and innocence will continue to live on.
